FAQs - Quick answers to your Captar Go questions

Captar GO has been developed by Captar Vision to make it easier to manage and to provide tools for you.

We’re here to help with a few key FAQs below.

Captar Go

Captar Premium takes your coaching to the next level by providing elite video feedback functionalities which have been adapted to the specific needs of grass root set ups. We are really excited to be offering video feedback to grassroots sports so see our video feedback section below.

Captar GO is an organiser and scheduler designed to take the hassle out of managing a team. You will be able to manage your squads, fixtures and tasks, track attendance, communicate with your players and team members and keep a gallery with the best moments of your matches. And with Match Day you can keep track of matches, team sheets and even award a Player of the Match.

Captar Enterprise is designed with more complex organisations in mind, including Schools, amateur academies or multisport associations.

Captar GO is controlled by an Administrator who will organise the squad and arrange matches and generate most of the content. However, with Individual Member Packages Members can build their own content of photos and videos which has been provided by the coach, shared by the Group or uploaded themselves.

With this package Members also have a bookmark which they can use to highlight the key moments, for example, when their child scores a goal or makes a great tackle. IF the game has been recorded by the Administrator Members will have a video highlight of their key moments available after the match and once the Administrator has uploaded the video.

It’s a great way to build a player portfolio which can be for pure fun or perhaps used to support sports scholarship applications. Members can buy individual Member packages to have and manage their own independent storage directly from their Member area in Captar GO.

Captar GO Add Ons provide additional functionality which can be bought by the Administrator to enhance the capabilities of your Captar GO and Captar GO Premium. They include Organiser Plus, Match Day Plus and Storage options.

Organiser Plus provides Administrators with more information to manage more effectively, with attendance reports, advance availability of players in calendar, and integration with external calendars. You are also able to add a sponsor logo to your team Captar Go screens, for all your members to see, a neat way to extend value to your team sponsor.

Match Day is an area in Captar GO that shows the key data for a match: the competition, teams, venue and date; the team sheets; and the scores. You can also choose a Player of the Game, add game highlights, and add photos to create a fun record of the match.

Match Day Plus lets you add you key match data, things like goals and shots on target. Match Day data entries are possible and are defined by the Administrator and coded using the Go Captar Premium coding panel as described in video feedback.

If the coach’s device is connected to the network, all updates in Match Day centre will be available to the team members in real time. Otherwise, it will be available after the match once the Administrator is connected to the network.

Video feedback

Video feedback is a powerful way to enhance coaching and team performance as used in Elite sports. Video provides an objective way to review matches and training and has been shown to accelerate the coaching process, helping teams to find marginal gains to improve performance.

We are excited to offer you the chance to use specialist sports analysis tools designed for grass root coaching.
If the game is being recorded GO Premium gives you the tools to code the video in real time, speed up the editing of video into highlights and create professional video reports.

Live coding lets you access the most interesting highlights in the quickest way. It saves so much time and is the basis of Elite sport video analysis. It’s worth repeating that the coding is live so there is no need to go through the full recording after the game to pick out the video highlights. Its done. As soon as the match day video is in the APP you can immediately see the video highlights for each coded event. Its quick and easy.

You also have editing tools with cool draw over options to create professional looking video reports which can be shared with the team or selected individuals.

Coaches can manage live coding from a single screen, on an iPad for example, with all the selected coding buttons for the match available. It is also possible for coaches to assign some coding tasks to one or more Members which helps to spread the workload and enables coaches to capture more than perhaps they could on their own.

Before the match you can set up your coding panel, creating as many coding buttons as you like. Its flexible too, you can name them and group them for ease of use and you can save them so that you can choose which ones you would like to use for a future event.

You can use your phone, a Go Pro, a camcorder or in fact any camera you choose. The quality of the recording will depend on the source you use and the height and positioning of the camera. See our article on how to get the best recording.

Captar GO includes easy to use video editing tools to quickly get reports from your coding.

Administrators can adjust their storage allowance to store videos as they require. If storage is tight, we advise keeping video highlights and reports rather than full length videos.

Members can also store video to create Player Portfolios if they subscribe to an Individual Member Package.

The coach can easily share reports and highlights to all the players.

Currently Captar Go does not include this option.

Account set up

Anyone can set up a GO account, create their team and start inviting members. The person that sets up the GO account will be the Administrator of the account with responsibility for choosing the best GO for their organisation and managing the Account.

Once the account is created the Administrator will invite Players and Guardians of underage payers to become Members.

Underage players are not allowed to join directly, instead they will join through a Guardian acting on their behalf.

If you are going to be the Administrator of the account (typically a coach, Club Director or Sports Administrator), please follow the Get Started instructions. If you are a player, you will receive an invitation from your coach, follow the included instructions and you will be good to go.

Our objective is to provide professional tools for grass root users at affordable prices. Pricing starts from £XX a month and then varies according to the products and features that you choose. We charge for Captar Go to provide the best experience, advertising free, and ensure that we can develop the best quality.

Payments are managed through the secure and confidential payment system provided by Stripe. Once you have set up your account in Captar Go Portal you will be guided through the process.

You are in control of your license. Licenses are monthly so you can cancel your license subscription any time, and you will not be charged at the following renewal time. You will still have all the functionalities available until the license period expires.

Anyone can set up a Go account, create their team and start inviting members. The person that sets up the Go account will be the Administrator of the account with responsibility for choosing the best Go for their organisation and managing the Account. The Administrator therefore should be someone who has overall responsibility for your team. It’s like to be a Coach or possibly a Club Director or a Sports Administrator in a school.

The Administrator will be responsible for creating and managing the account. The Administrator could be a Coach or it could be for example a Club Director or School Sports Administrator.

The Administrator will always be responsible for managing financial aspects of the license.

The Administrator can, however, choose whether they will also be the daily manager of the team’s activities, performing tasks associated with the organiser, scheduler, match day and video feedback features. If they choose not to be involved in the daily activities they can assign a team manager (likely to be the team coach) to perform these tasks.

The Administrator is responsible for inviting Players and Guardians to join Captar Go as Members.

Players, Guardians of underage Players and assistant coaches can be invited to become Members of the team’s Captar Go account.

Members will not have the role of an Administrator but are included in all communications relating to the activities of the team. Members can receive and respond to communications from the Administrator, view a schedule of events conveniently in one place, manage their data and preferences, access the Match Centre and, depending on the level of license that the Administrator has taken out, receive video feedback from the coach. Members can also sign up for the Member Package to create their own video highlights. Members can also volunteer for various tasks requested by the Administrator.

Adult Players and Coaching Assistants have direct access to full Member services within the APP.

However, underage Players can only sign up with a Guardian who will manage all data and communications related to the underage player. Underage Players cannot log into the application, and all communications will take place through their Guardians. See our safeguarding policies and features for more information. Guardians will have the same access as Adult Players.

Whilst Members cannot create a Captar Go account they can add some additional features by directly subscribing for a Members Package and increasing the amount of storage that they need.
